The first edition of the Vaud International Business Award was held on 27 November 2014. The winners are:

Medtronic

Specialising in pacemakers and implantable medical devices, Medtronic set up business in Tolochenaz in 1996. It currently employs some 800 people in the canton with a total staff of almost 1,000 throughout Switzerland. With its global head office located in Minneapolis, the company is one of the largest employers in the canton, with employees hailing from more than 50 countries.

Nestlé Nespresso SA

Nespresso employs 1,800 people in the canton divided between the sites in Lausanne (international head office), Paudex (Swiss head office), Orbe and Avenches, the two production centres. Founded in 1986 and a subsidiary of Nestlé, the world leader in the agri-food sector, the company developed and patented its system of coffee in capsules as early as the 1970s, although major success was first experienced in the mid-1990s. Today, it produces all its coffee capsules in Switzerland in the canton of Vaud.
